First of all, it was a turning point in history, the period between the First and Second World War. In Poland, the so-called "interwar period" lasted, in which we finally regained independence. Thus, not only a new government was formed, but also cultural and social development. Women started to fight for their rights, gained voting rights, worked professionally, smoked cigarettes and experimented with fashion. The 1920s were the times of the Coco Chanel fashion revolution, which encouraged people to take care of themselves and emphasize their femininity. Women then began to wear pants, which became a symbol of liberation. The tomboy look became fashionable, and if women wore dresses, they were loose, sleeveless. It was then that the "little black dress" became fashionable, and it is still present in the wardrobe of almost every woman and works on many occasions. Evening dresses were sewn from light and shiny materials, often exposing the back. The styling was also based on pearls, feathers, tassels and characteristic headbands. Men, on the other hand, began to wear tasteful three-piece tuxedos, wide-leg oxfords, striped jackets, hats and original patterned socks. The fashion of the 20s is a breath of freshness and ease, unique outfits that were supposed to attract attention.
